Ripple (XRP) casino fees and processing: what the ledger charges and what the operators say

XRP is cheap and fast to move, and a note about fees and processing can be short for that reason. The cost that matters on a casino deposit is not the transfer fee.

It is whatever is lost when a field is wrong, and that has no price tag until it happens.

Fees are small, and not the cost to watch

The ledger charges a small transaction cost that is destroyed rather than paid to anyone, which is one of the reasons XRP is commonly described as cheap. We print no figure because the cost can move with network load and a number copied here would age.

Operators add their own statements. Cloudbet says it charges no deposit fee and that each withdrawal pays a flat fee that follows the network. BitStarz's deposit table shows a fee of 0%. Sportsbet.io's page says it covers the withdrawal fee. Each is the operator's claim on its own page, and each applies to its own cashier.

The reserve catches people out

An address on the ledger has to hold a small reserve of XRP before it exists. If you withdraw to a brand-new personal wallet and send less than that reserve, the wallet cannot receive it. The current reserve is set by the network and published in the ledger's documentation, so check it there rather than here.

The reserve is a reason why casinos use tags instead of one address per customer: a business with a million players would otherwise have to lock up a reserve a million times.

How fast is processing, stage by stage?

Roobet asks for one confirmation for XRP deposits, which on this ledger means a matter of seconds. Sportsbet.io says a deposit needs three confirmations before you can withdraw against it, a statement about deposits as a whole and not about XRP alone. Duelbits says deposits usually arrive within five minutes.

None of those figures describes a withdrawal. A payout can involve a manual look on the operator's side, and BetFury says so for its own withdrawals in a passage that quotes a range of up to 72 hours. A fast ledger does not make a slow desk faster.

FAQ

Does the operator or the ledger charge for an XRP deposit?

The ledger charges a small cost to the sender. Some operators, such as Cloudbet and BitStarz, say they add no deposit fee on their own pages.

Why would a withdrawal to my own wallet fail?

A new address may need to hold the ledger's reserve before it can receive payments. Check the current reserve in the ledger's documentation.
