The tag, explained / Deposits

Ripple (XRP) casino deposits: finding the tag, copying it, and what the operators publish

A deposit has two halves. The address says which business receives the payment, and the tag says which customer. The first half is almost impossible to forget because wallets insist on it. The second is the half people lose.

This page is about the fields on the deposit screen and the few numbers operators print next to them.

Where do I find my XRP destination tag?

On the casino's deposit screen, after you choose XRP. The screen shows an address and, when one applies, a tag, usually in its own box with a copy button of its own. The tag belongs to your account at that casino. It is not the tag from your exchange account, which you use when you send money to the exchange, and it is not interchangeable between casinos.

People who deposit often have three tags in play at once: the exchange's, one casino's and another casino's. The only reliable habit is to copy from the screen you are about to pay, in the same sitting, and never from a note or an earlier message.

Are XRP memo and destination tag the same thing?

In daily use the words are swapped freely. Roobet's article calls the field a Destination Tag/Memo, and Cloudbet's guide says tag/MEMO. Wallets differ in which word they print beside the box.

On the ledger they are different things. A destination tag is a whole number. The protocol has a separate area for free-text memos. A cashier that asks for a tag wants a number, so if your wallet will not accept what you pasted into the box, check it holds digits only and not a label.

One address, one tag per player

Because the address is shared, two players can send from the same exchange at the same minute and arrive at the same destination. The tag is the only thing that separates them. It also means a tag that exists but belongs to someone else is not an error the ledger can catch: it has no way to check a tag against a customer. Only the casino's own system can.

XRP also has a longer address form that packs the tag into the address itself. The ledger's documentation suggests it as an easier option for customers than keeping track of two pieces of information. If a cashier shows address and tag separately, use the classic address and fill the tag box. If it shows one long string, your wallet may accept the whole of it with no separate tag; if the wallet complains, ask the cashier for the classic form.

What the operators' own pages let a depositor see

Count the twelve. Two mention the tag at all: Roobet, in strong terms, and Cloudbet, in passing. Seven name XRP and say nothing on the tag: Stake, BitStarz, Rollbit, Duelbits, BetFury, Sportsbet.io and Vave. Two offer too little to read, BC.GAME and FortuneJack, and one brand could not be established.

That is not a ranking, since a help page is not a cashier. It is a reminder that the screen you pay on is the one document that always applies.

Minimum XRP deposits, in the operators' words

A few operators print a smallest amount for XRP, and each figure comes with a place and a time. Cloudbet's currency configuration shows 0.1 for a deposit. Rollbit's minimums article, dated mid-August 2026, lists 4 XRP. BitStarz's payments page, which carries no date, shows at least 5 XRP in its deposit table. A Vave help article updated in September 2023 shows 7.8 XRP. Sportsbet.io's table shows 0.31, counted after network fees.

Those figures are not like for like. Some are per transaction, one is measured after fees and one is three years old. Read them as a spread, not a league table, and take the number the cashier shows on the day.

FAQ

Is the tag the same for every deposit I make at one casino?

That depends on how the casino builds its cashier. Read the deposit screen every time and copy what it shows.

What if the cashier shows one long address and no tag box?

That can mean the tag is packed into the address. Paste the whole string into your wallet and do not add a separate tag.
