Open Roobet Its help page calls the XRP destination tag mandatory. Operator’s own site, new tab, 18+.

The tag, explained

Ripple (XRP) casinos and the destination tag that decides where your deposit goes

An XRP deposit needs two pieces of information, not one: the casino's address and a number called the destination tag. Leave the number out and the money can reach the casino's address and still not reach you.

This site reads twelve operators' own help pages for what they tell an XRP sender, with the tag as the question that matters most. It will not tell you who has the best bonus. It will tell you where the written warnings are, where they are missing, and where we could not read the page at all.

What does an XRP destination tag mean?

A casino that takes XRP does not hand every player a private address. It keeps one address, or a few, and tells each player to attach a number to the payment. The number is the tag. The casino's system reads it on arrival and credits the account that owns it.

The XRP Ledger's own documentation explains why it works this way. On that ledger an address must be a funded, permanent account, which costs the network resources and ties up a reserve for as long as the address exists. Giving each customer an address would be wasteful, so businesses use tags instead. The same page adds that a tag has no function on the ledger itself: it is a hint about how the receiving business should treat the payment, written as a whole number that fits in 32 bits.

Two envelopes sent to the same building: one carries box number 4821 and reaches a numbered mailbox, the other carries no number and lies on the hall floor Same building, same street address. Only the number decides which box the payment lands in.

What happens if I send XRP without a destination tag?

Two things can happen, and which one you get depends on a setting the receiver controls. A receiving account can ask the ledger to reject any payment that arrives without a tag. If the casino switched that on, your wallet's transfer simply fails and you try again with the number. If it did not, the payment succeeds, the XRP lands on the shared address, and nobody on the casino's side can tell whose it is without a manual look.

The operators we read do not say which setting they use. What one of them says is about the outcome:

We require a destination tag on all deposits, and if you are missing the tag when you place your depo your funds will unfortunately be lost.

Roobet help article What is an XRP Destination Tag?, dated March 2024

Note the verb. Lost is not delayed. Other sites that write about XRP casinos tend to say a missing tag can slow crediting until support traces the payment. That may be true for some operators and some days. Roobet's page does not promise it, and a sender who read only the soft version would plan on a rescue that the operator never offered.

Is an XRP tag required?

At Roobet, yes, and the operator says so in a mandatory-field sentence. At Cloudbet the deposit guide says to copy the tag or memo if needed, while the operator's own currency data flags XRP as a coin that supports a tag. Seven more operators name XRP and never mention a tag on the pages we could read: Stake, BitStarz, Rollbit, Duelbits, BetFury, Sportsbet.io and Vave.

The other three are gaps. BC.GAME offers one descriptive line and nothing more, FortuneJack refused every plain request, and a cashier we could read under the name CoinCasino could not be tied to that brand.

Silence is not permission. A help page that skips the tag is a page that skipped it, not a cashier that lacks it, and nobody can check a missing field after the money has gone.

Settlement really is a few seconds

The ledger closes in seconds, and Roobet's deposit article asks for one confirmation on XRP against three on ETH. That speed is a convenience when everything is right and a problem when it is not, because the transfer is finished before you have noticed the missing number. There is no waiting period in which to change your mind.

Speed is also the only thing this site says about timing. The numbers other operators quote for deposits and withdrawals belong to different stages and are given on their own pages.

What this site leaves out

No welcome offer, no promo code, no rollover, no licence line and no star rating appears anywhere here. Those figures change fastest and the pages we read do not give them for XRP. If you want a number, ask the operator's own page, and write down the date you read it.

FAQ

Do I need a destination tag if I send from my own wallet?

The tag is required by the receiving side, not by your wallet. Your wallet only has to give you a box to type it into, which every common XRP wallet does.

Is the tag a secret?

No. The ledger's documentation notes that all XRP transactions are public, so a tag is visible to anyone who looks. Treat it as part of an address, not as a password.

Can I reuse the same tag for my next deposit?

That is a cashier detail. Roobet says it requires a tag on all deposits, so read the deposit screen each time rather than relying on what you copied last month.
